The South Padre (Island) Journal began as blank pages of arches textwove paper gathered in an unbound single section. I had brought derwent watercolor pencils and micron pens to the beach and decided I wanted to draw a hibiscus flower. I plucked a flower, parked myself at my mother-in-law’s large dining room table which faces the beach, and started to draw. |
I completed the rest of the section over the course of several months, and added two more sections as well. It is stitched and waiting to be bound! |
